The Festas de São João e da Cidade do Entroncamento (São João and Entroncamento City Festivals), held every year in June, feature a diverse programme that includes fireworks displays, food stalls, crafts, street entertainment and sports activities, areas dedicated to children’s entertainment and moments of religious celebration.

September

The Vapor Festival is a free music event held in Entroncamento, inspired by steampunk aesthetics. Organised by the Municipality of Entroncamento and the National Railway Museum, with the support of the Lisbon Steampunk League, the festival takes place next to the railway heritage facilities, offering music, art and entertainment in a unique setting.

October

The National Dried Fruit Fair, which usually takes place in October, is a unique opportunity to discover the flavours and traditions of Ribatejo. The event celebrates dried fruits and their culture, preserving traditional knowledge and highlighting local heritage, providing an authentic and unforgettable experience for all visitors.

November

The National Horse Fair, also known as the Golegã Fair, takes place annually in November and is one of the largest equestrian events in Portugal. The event includes equestrian competitions, Lusitano horse presentations, traditional parades, typical cuisine, handicrafts and equestrian shows, offering a unique experience of the culture and tradition of Ribatejo.

Located in the heart of Golegã, it is a must-see for anyone who loves horses, tradition and regional cuisine.

Bathing season

Usually between June and September:

Agroal River Beach (30 km): Agroal River Beach is located in the municipality of Ourém, in the parish of Formigais, next to the source of the Nabão River.

It is known for its natural beauty, clear, cold waters and the medicinal properties attributed to the spring.

Aldeia do Mato River Beach (30 km): Aldeia do Mato River Beach is located on the Castelo de Bode Dam reservoir, in the municipality of Abrantes. It is a beach awarded with a Blue Flag and gold quality by Quercus, with a leisure area offering floating pools and water sports equipment.

lverangel River Beach (25 km): Alverangel River Beach is a popular destination for relaxing and enjoying the waters of the Zêzere River, near Tomar. It offers pleasant natural scenery with views of Bode Castle.

Constância River Beach (15 km): Constância River Beach, located at the confluence of the Zêzere and Tagus rivers, is a bathing area with clear waters, recently inaugurated and awarded the ‘Revelation Beach 2023’ prize. It is located on the left bank of the Zêzere River, near the village, and is a quiet place with facilities that allow for a pleasant family day out.

Santarém Aquatic Complex (40 km): The Santarém Aquatic Complex, open during the summer season, is a space with various water attractions. Visitors can find a wave pool, slides, and jacuzzi areas, as well as areas for children and for meals.
